The street was renamed several times: firstly it was named Kladbishenskaya, Sennaya (on one side of the street there was a cemetery («kladbishe» in Russian), on the other – a square where hay (‘seno’ in Russian) was sold), then – Bolshaya Uspenskaya, Egora Sazonova, in 19301950s – Stalina, from 1960s – it has its modern name.
