This is a branch of the National Literature Museum of Bashkortostan.
Wooden house was built in 1880s, the former estate of the Ginevskiy, a monument of architecture. In 1923–1934 the People’s Poet of Bashkortostan, a classic poet of the Bashkir and Tatar literature Mazhit Gafuri (1890–1934) lived and worked here. The museum organized in 1948, consists of 6 rooms. In three of them – living room, bedroom and study restored the furnishings of the apartment of the poet and his family. In this house Gafuri wrote his famous story «Chernolikie», «Steps of life», «Red Star», the libretto for the opera «Worker» based on his poem with the same name.
