It was opened as a part of the Museum of Ethnography of the peoples of Bashkortostan, and then moved to Demskiy district of Ufa. Now it is a branch of the Republican Museum of Battle Glory. The museum has three rooms. In one of the rooms there are the battle -flag of the division, bust of the division commander Major General M.M. Shaymuratov, the plan of a combat path of the division. Two dioramas are presented here, one of them – «The crossing of the Dnieper River», where cavalry warriors of the division displayed heroism and 78 of them were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. In the second room there are the photographs of working days of people of Demskiy district during the Great Patriotic War.
