Called «Pavlovka» by the campers, the Pavlovskoye reservoir spreads across environmentally clean Nurimanoskiy, Karaidelskiy and Blagoveshenskiy regions. Auto-roads lead to several towns on banks of the reservoir (Pavlovka, Chebikovo, Novoyansaitovo, Maginsk, Berdyash, Karaidel). Created in 1959, it is one of the main holiday destinations of Bashkortostan population. The site is located 170 km away from the mouth of the Ufa river. Its total capacity is 1411 million m3, active capacity – 952 million m3, the surface area is 116 km2, its length is 150 km, average width – 770 m, average depth is 11,7 m (maximum – 25-35 m).
In the spring the reservoir is filled from mid-April to late May; from November to May is under the ice (the ice thickness in FebruaryMarch is about 70-80 cm).
Opposite to Novoyansaitovo village on the left bank of the Reservoir is situated Novoyansaitovsky permafrost area. It is unique to the European part of Russia.
In the vicinity of the reservoir areas are endemic and relict plants.
Entrance of the reservoir open only to tourists with vouchers for the local camp sites and holiday homes. That`s why it is problematic to travel on your own.
There is a great diversity of tourist camps: from students camp sites to modern and well equipped resorts. Recently, there has been built a good asphalt road (before campings were available only by ferry).
There are fishing locations. Fish Species: roaches, perch, pike, bream, etc.
Since 2009 at the Pavlovka reservoir operates the first water petrol station in republic.
