The museum was built in the style of strict modern (Samara architect A.A. Scherbachev) on commission from Ufa merchant, prosperous timbermerchant M.A. Laptev. The side parts of the facade are separated by large windows. In the center – gently protruding bulk of the building with two rows of windows (see "Museums").
