The building was built in 1934–1935 in the style of post constructivism (the architect Mayat). In 1941–1943 Komintern radio station was working on the later completed fifth store of the building. They were continuously broadcasting on 18 foreign languages. The writer Jean-Richard Bloch (1884–1947) took part in the French-speaking radio programs. At the entrance in the Post Office here is a symbolic sign "the null kilometer" – the initial point of counting the distance from Ufa to other cities of Russia and the world. On the facade of the pochtamt (post office) building it is indicated: from Ufa to Moscow – 1318 km, to Saint-Petersburg – 1934 km, to Vladivistok – 7622 km, to Paris – 4164 km, to London – 4268 km.
