It is one of the sights of Ufa. It was built in 1889. The beautiful balconies, nicely decorated facade of the building, fine covering distinguish this building from other constructions on this street. F.E. Chizhev was a hereditary noble citizen of Ufa, a rich merchant who gave charities for the needs of the city. In 1928 here was a Local History Museum, now it is a branch of the National Library of Republic of Bashkortostan named after A.-Z.Validi.
