The building was constructed in "Russian style" in 1897–1904 and belonged to the merchant L.A. Stepanov-Zorin. In the years of the Great Patriotic War there was the Ufa Infantry College. The college prepared the commanders of the rifle, machine gun and mortar divisions and there were several graduations. Among its graduates are the Heroes of the Soviet Union I.T. Grishin, F.N. Zhila, T.L. Nurkaev, G.I. Idrisov, I.P. Serikov. In 1985 a memorial board was established on the facade of the building.
