This is a monument of architecture of the XXth century, the former hotel "Evropeyskaya". As the hotel "Bashkiria" it began working in 1941 after the reconstruction (according to the design of Ufa architect V.M. Maksimov), in 1997 it got its modern name.
In the years of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 there was a Scientific Technical Committee for Defense at the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The figures of the Ispolkom Kominterna (Communist International Committee), writers and poets: S. Neris, I. Kocherga, M. Ryilski, N. Ryibak, actors: I. Patorzhinki, Z. Gaidai, M. Litvinenko-Volgemut and others also lived here. Now it is a modern hotel of a "four star" category (see "Hotels").
